It is widely acknowledged that Aboriginal Australians have high rates of disability but relatively fewer services or supports. Compounding this issue are other factors including geographical isolation, low socio-economic status, past policies and mistrust of agencies.

To combat this, we recommend mainstream disability services have the knowledge, resources and embedded practices that support the delivery of culturally safe services to Aboriginal people with disability.

This training aims to introduce you to Aboriginal Australia, increase your knowledge of disability and what it means to Aboriginal people and, provide tips on how to become a place of employment for Aboriginal people.
